Event Summary

As part of our Unity in Diversity initiative, we successfully delivered the "Standing Up to Racism: Understanding Your Legal and Human Rights" workshop on 13th February 2026. Facilitated by the Northern Community Legal Centre, the workshop equipped participants with essential knowledge about their legal rights and how to take action against racism.

This workshop is one of many activities under the Unity in Diversity program, which is proudly supported by the Victorian Government through the Local Anti-Racism Initiatives Grants Program 2024–26. Our program celebrates culture, promotes inclusion, and strengthens community connections through educational workshops, peer mentoring, and social worker support.

Key Takeaways:

  • Participants learned about recognizing and responding to racism.

  • Gained a better understanding of their legal rights.

  • Discussed strategies for standing up against racism.

A big thank you to our partners, including the Northern Community Legal Centre, Hume City Council, and local community organizations, for their support. We’re also grateful to the Victorian Government for funding this vital project.
