Multicultural StoryTime

We are thrilled to share our exciting updates for 2025! A heartfelt thank you goes out to the Victorian Government for their unwavering support of this initiative. The Multicultural Storytime Project is dedicated to enriching the lives of Victorian children from diverse backgrounds by strengthening their connections with their families, cultures, languages, and identities through the captivating world of storytelling.

This year, we are continuing our commitment to promoting literacy and cultural engagement while providing families with essential, culturally relevant health information and guiding them to local health services and resources within their communities.

In collaboration with Hume City Council and the Homestead Community Centre, we are excited to launch Arabic and Turkish Storytime. This addition promises to celebrate diverse cultures and stories, fostering a sense of inclusivity and joy for children and families from various backgrounds. Furthermore, our enduring partnership with the Maidstone Community Centre has led to vibrant Spanish Storytime events that have received an overwhelmingly positive response from the community.

On March 17, 2025, we had the distinct honor of hosting the Minister for Children, the Hon. Lizzie Blandthorn MP, and Ms. Katie Hall MP for Footscray during their visit to our Spanish Storytime at Maidstone. They had the opportunity to connect with playgroup families and participants, as well as meet with AUSMCCL staff, volunteers, and representatives from the Maribyrnong City Council - Maidstone Community Centre. We are incredibly grateful for their support!

As we continue our journey throughout 2025, we eagerly anticipate building on these successful collaborations and celebrating our diversity. We look forward to showcasing cultural stories and experiences within our community. Join us in honoring the richness of our diversity and the joy that storytelling brings!
