1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or participating in services, events, or programs operated by Australian Multicultural Community Centre Limited ("AMCC", "we", "our", or "us"), including through our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not access or use our services. These Terms are governed by AMCC’s Constitution and applicable Australian law, including the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) and Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)).
2. Our Services
AMCC is a not-for-profit community organisation supporting individuals and families from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. Services include:
Family Law Support Clinic
Mental Health Clinic
Free School Tutoring
Multicultural Storytime
Cyber Safety Events
Disability Youth Empowerment Initiatives
Community Support and Advocacy
We may update, change or discontinue any service at our discretion.
3. Eligibility
Participation in AMCC’s programs and events is open to:
Individuals residing in Australia (including CALD, refugee and migrant communities);
Carers, family members, support workers and volunteers; and
Organisations and individuals who align with AMCC’s mission and objectives.
Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or authorised representative when participating in relevant programs. This requirement aligns with AMCC’s duty of care and obligations under the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 (Vic).
4. Membership
Membership is subject to the provisions set out in AMCC’s Constitution (see Sections E and L). Key terms include:
Membership is not transferable (Constitution, clause 23).
Voting rights are limited to active, financial members (Constitution, clause 24).
Members must comply with AMCC’s Code of Conduct and Constitution.
The Board has discretion to admit, suspend or expel members (Constitution, clauses 32 and 37–38).
5. User Conduct
You agree to:
Use AMCC’s services and website lawfully and respectfully;
Not engage in any harmful, abusive, discriminatory, defamatory, or disruptive behaviour;
Follow instructions from AMCC staff and volunteers during events and programs;
Maintain the confidentiality of other participants and staff where appropriate;
Not infringe intellectual property rights belonging to AMCC or third parties.
AMCC reserves the right to deny access or remove any participant for breach of these terms. Actions may be taken in accordance with our Constitution and internal disciplinary procedures.
6. Privacy
We handle your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), including the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). By participating in our services or submitting your details, you consent to our collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as outlined in our Privacy Policy.
7. Intellectual Property
All materials provided by AMCC, including educational resources, logos, and content published on our website/social media or in programs, remain the property of AMCC unless otherwise noted. You may not copy, distribute, or modify these materials without written permission. Intellectual property protections arise under the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth).
8. Third-Party Links and Services
AMCC may partner with external organisations (e.g., Auzi Premiere Care, Victoria Law Firm & Associates, Stride Network) and provide referrals or links to third-party services. We do not accept liability for content, services, or conduct outside AMCC’s direct control. Any referral is offered in good faith, and users should review third-party terms independently.
9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
AMCC’s services are offered in good faith and are not intended as legal or medical advice.
AMCC makes no guarantees as to the availability, quality, or outcomes of services.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AMCC excludes liability for any loss, damage or injury arising from the use or misuse of its services.
This clause is subject to any non-excludable rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
10. Changes to Terms
AMCC may revise these Terms and Conditions at any time. The most recent version will be published on our website. Continued participation in AMCC’s services constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with the laws of that jurisdiction.
