Multicultural Storytime Project

We are thrilled to continue the Multicultural Storytime Project in 2026, building on the success of previous years. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the Victorian Government for their unwavering support of this initiative. This program is dedicated to enriching the lives of Victorian children from diverse backgrounds by strengthening their connections with their families, cultures, languages, and identities through the captivating world of storytelling.

In 2026, we continue our commitment to promoting literacy, cultural engagement, and family wellbeing, while providing families with essential, culturally relevant health information and connecting them to local health services and community resources.

Expanding Storytime Experiences

In collaboration with Hume City Council and the Meadow Heights Primary School Hub, we are launching Arabic and Turkish Storytime, celebrating diverse cultures and fostering a sense of inclusivity and joy for children and families. Our ongoing partnership with the Maidstone Community Centre continues to support Spanish Storytime events, which have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from the community.

Notable Visits and Support

In 2025, we had the honor of hosting the Minister for Children, the Hon. Lizzie Blandthorn MP, and Ms. Katie Hall MP for Footscray during a Spanish Storytime at Maidstone. They connected with playgroup families, participants, AUSMCC staff and volunteers, and representatives from the Maribyrnong City Council – Maidstone Community Centre. We are deeply grateful for their continued support.

Looking Ahead in 2026

As we move forward, we eagerly anticipate continuing successful collaborations, expanding cultural storytime experiences, and celebrating the richness of diversity in our community. Join us in honoring the joy of storytelling and the vibrant cultural experiences that bring our families together.
