Self-Employment Support Project for Refugees and Asylum Seekers

Self-Employment Support Project for Refugees and Asylum Seekers

The Self-Employment Support Project is aimed at empowering refugees and asylum seekers by providing them with the resources and skills necessary to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities. This project focuses specifically on supporting community members—including those with disabilities—who aspire to achieve self-sufficiency through self-employment.

Project Aims:

1. Skill Development: We will host workshops and seminars tailored to equip participants with essential skills in business planning, marketing, and financial management.

2. Networking Opportunities: The project will organize events to connect participants with local entrepreneurs, mentors, and business leaders, facilitating networking and collaboration.

3. Culinary and Cultural Celebrations: To honor diverse backgrounds, we will include cultural events, such as community feasts that showcase the culinary talents of participants, fostering a sense of community and shared culture.

4. Ongoing Support: Continuous mentorship and guidance will be provided to help participants navigate the challenges of starting and maintaining their businesses.

The Self-Employment Support Project will extend into 2025, reaffirming AMCCL’s commitment to supporting community members from refugee and asylum-seeking backgrounds, particularly those with disabilities who wish to engage in this initiative. By focusing on empowerment and economic independence, this project aims to help individuals build successful futures and contribute positively to their communities.

We would also like to extend our gratitude to our partners and community for their continued support.
