The event recognised and celebrated the vital contributions of unpaid carers from multicultural communities across the Hume region.
over 35 multicultural carers attended and enjoyed a warm, welcoming and supportive environment. The program included cultural drumming and dancing, shared stories, and meaningful conversations that encouraged connection and wellbeing.
Special guests included:
Kathleen Matthews-Ward MP, Member for Broadmeadows, acknowledging the commitment of local carers.
Jessica Harmer (Access & Support Officer), sharing guidance on carer support services.
Anaa Plisi, Senior Manager at BSL, offering inspiration and encouragement through her lived experience and insights.
The event strengthened social connections, increased awareness of culturally appropriate support available through AUMCC, BSL and Carers Victoria, and empowered carers to share their stories and support one another.
