Event Summary

The Australian Multicultural Community Centre (AUSMCC) proudly hosted its Multicultural Bazaar, bringing together emerging entrepreneurs, established business owners, service providers, and community members in a vibrant celebration of culture, creativity, and small business innovation.

The event forms part of the Self-Employment Support Program, which commenced in 2025 and continues due to its strong community impact. Delivered by the Holmesglen Institute Self-Employment Team, the program supports refugees and asylum seekers—including people with disabilities—who aspire to start their own businesses. Through practical workshops, mentoring, and networking opportunities, participants build skills in business planning, marketing, and financial management while strengthening their confidence and economic independence.

The Multicultural Bazaar featured vibrant cultural stalls showcasing traditional crafts, handmade products, artwork, clothing, and authentic foods from diverse backgrounds. The event created a welcoming and inclusive space where culture and entrepreneurship came together.

Emerging entrepreneurs had the opportunity to promote their products and services, while established business owners shared their experiences, challenges, and practical advice. Local service providers were also present to offer information and support pathways for individuals exploring self-employment.

The Bazaar fostered networking, mentorship, and collaboration—strengthening connections within the local multicultural and business community.

We sincerely thank the Australian Government Department of Social Services, in collaboration with Uniting VIC.TAS Communities for Children – Hume Program, for their ongoing support and funding of this initiative.
