Cyber Safety Workshop (Community Leaders and Volunteers)

Discover technology risks and the tools to stay protected.

About This Event

Our "Cyber Safety Workshop for Community Leaders and Volunteers" help community members build confidence online by learning how to recognise scams, protect personal information and develop safer digital habits. Through simple guidance and practical examples, participants gain the skills to spot suspicious activity, create stronger security practices, and know what to do if something goes wrong. These workshops provide a supportive, culturally responsive space for anyone wanting to navigate the digital world more safely, supported by funding from the Australian Government.

Event Summary

On 17 November 2025, the Australian Multicultural Community Centre (AUMCC) delivered a Cyber Safety Awareness Session. The session successfully engaged 20+ community representatives from Nepal, Sri Lanka, Syria, Libya, Eritrea, and India. We also shared cyber safety resources in multiple languages to support accessibility for our diverse communities. A big thanks to all participants and contributors for making this event a success.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our funding body for their invaluable support. This project has been made possible through the “Cyber Security Awareness Support for Vulnerable Groups” grant, funded by the Australian Government. Their commitment to empowering diverse communities through digital safety initiatives is deeply appreciated.
