2 Days Skills Development Workshop

On Thursday, August 8th and 15th we hosted an informative workshop on skills development, specifically designed for community leaders/representatives. The workshop featured Africa Community Leader, Advocate and representative for the newly arrived community members from Gaza, Indian Community Representative, Afghan Community Leader, Yemeni Community Leaders and Libyan women Community Leaders and Syrian Community leader. We also had Priooz from Track C Consulting, who ran the workshop and provided us with valuable insights about having difficult conversations and setting boundaries. The workshop focused on understanding uncomfortable situations/awkward conversations and how to prevent escalation of misunderstandings and problems, while maintaining open and positive relationships with others. The participants engaged in group discussions and were actively involved with the facilitator and the content being provided. Attendees were encouraged to ask questions and share their own experiences, fostering a collaborative environment for learning and support. This exchange of ideas and perspectives among community leaders/representatives strengthened the network dedicated to skills development.

Overall, this information session proved to be an essential step in equipping community leaders/representatives with the tools and knowledge necessary for handling difficult conversations, setting boundaries, and maintaining open and positive relationships. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Priooz for his expertise, the Hume City Council and Empowering Communities for their support, and to all community leaders/representatives for their commitment to making a meaningful difference in our community.
