Focus on self-employment

Self-Employment Support Program

As we move into 2025, we are thrilled to continue the Self-Employment Support Program, dedicated to empowering refugees and asylum seekers by providing them with the resources and skills necessary to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities. Building on the success we've achieved in 2024, this program remains focused on supporting community members—including those with disabilities—who aspire to achieve self-sufficiency through self-employment.

Program Aims

  1. Skill Development:

  • We will host workshops and seminars tailored to equip participants with essential skills in business planning, marketing, and financial management.

  1. Networking Opportunities:

  • The program will organize events to connect participants with local entrepreneurs, mentors, and business leaders, fostering valuable networking and collaboration.

  1. Culinary and Cultural Celebrations:

  • To honor the diverse backgrounds of our community, we will include cultural events such as community feasts that showcase the culinary talents of participants, creating a sense of community and shared culture.

  1. Ongoing Support:

  • Continuous mentorship and guidance will be provided to help participants navigate the challenges of starting and maintaining their businesses.

A Continued Commitment

The Self-Employment Support Program will extend into 2025, reaffirming AMCCL’s commitment to supporting community members from refugee and asylum-seeking backgrounds, particularly those with disabilities who wish to engage in this initiative. By focusing on empowerment and economic independence, this program aims to help individuals build successful futures and contribute positively to their communities.

Partnering for Success

We are excited to announce our partnership with the Self-Employment Team at Holmesglen to offer a Free Exploring Self-Employment Workshop. This workshop is designed to provide an understanding of entrepreneurship and self-employment for those with a business idea or the dream of being their own boss.

For detailed information about the workshop, please refer to the attached flyer.

Stay tuned for the upcoming Multicultural Bazaar 2026.
